Wk11- Vlogging

For this video, my ultimate goal was to express my thoughts on how change can be unexpected and that we have to roll with the punches. If you have watched my video and understood my thought process then I can say with confidence that yes my goal was completed because my thoughts were heard. If I were to do another sit down vlog I would try and loosen up and get more relaxed. It was very difficult to do that this time knowing that the vlog was going to be graded. Although I have been asked by my community on twitch to vlog, I think for now I will not pursue that path. As of now the content that I most enjoy watching from a youtuber would be Logan Paul. I admire his energy and his consistency to put out content. From his videos I know what areas interest me the most like his comfort in front of a camera and the editing style in the videos. For me, authenticity is who you are off the camera. It is who you are in real life against who people think you are based off the character you play online. Performance is like an act. A vlogger is a comfortable actor where they express themselves online. I believe many vloggers are not the same person when they are not shown on YouTube. If a person expresses performance but lacks authenticity they would be considered fake. Authenticity and performance are not opposites they can both be traits of one person. A person who is legitimate and nice online can also be legitimate and nice offline. It’s just about being a good person. After watching both videos of Jennifer Aniston I would have to say that the interview when Jennifer is at her home is more authentic. Mainly because there was no promotion involved that would benefit her career unlike the interview at the studio. The studio session was definitely more performative because of the rehearsals that would take place and how they followed an order of their conversation by the writers of the show. The interaction was not very natural as the one where they broadcasted from home.
