Wk 13- Sustainable Art

My idea was to create a reflection from this food display to people and their differences. By demonstrating that one slice of pizza has pepperonis and the other doesn’t each one can be used differently. The one on the left would be at a disadvantage towards someone who doesn’t like any toppings on their pizza but in the case that the person likes the topping then that piece would get chosen. This demonstration is a clear display of certain advantages that people have that apply to situations that would benefit them. In the case that it doesn’t benefit you it doesn’t make it a disadvantage it only means its useful in a different area. Obviously the materials were basically my food. It was 2 slices of pizza which was the bulk of this piece and a paper plate to hold it together. If the person viewing this can see past just the concept of pizza on a plate then maybe they can see it in a bigger picture and find the actual purpose. My choice of materials made my artwork more appealing to look at since many people enjoy food this is definitely an eye grabber for those people.

In terms of kissing, they should only last like 1-2 seconds unless its something special like a marriage kiss. For the most part it depends on the scenario some last more than others and its because of the heat of the moment. Great meals should be enjoyed they shouldn’t be rushed. So I can’t give an estimate for how long these meals should last because people eat at different speeds. An art piece in my opinion should last forever so more people can experience it and enjoy it. However with few exceptions some art pieces should only last the moment of creation and shortly after to make it more valuable for the ones who get to experience it. For the case of marriages ideally they are supposed to last forever as a signal of impenetrable love. Human life on the other hand is not a permanent experience. Our life span is limited and in my opinion a good lifetime should be around 85 years.

The fact that ephemeral artwork and human lives are not permanent make it so we cherish those things more than others. With these things we have the mentality to get the most out of these experiences. The goal should be to make things like quality air, clean water, and sustainable land into long lasting resources for the future generations of humans. Realistically speaking, I won’t be the one to make the difference. There are people that have that drive to make the world a better place.
